Turn Theatregoers into Diners with Make a Rezzy and Spektrix
If you run a theatre with a restaurant attached, you already know the awkward dance. A customer puts tickets for Saturday night in their basket, and somewhere between the seat map and the payment page they wonder: “shall we eat there too?” To find out, they have to abandon their basket, hunt down the restaurant page, work out what time the show starts, and count backwards to a sensible dinner time. Most give up and book nothing — or eat somewhere else down the road.
The gap between the box office and the kitchen
The frustrating part is that both halves of the business usually run on perfectly good software. Spektrix looks after your tickets, memberships, and showtime merchandise, and knows a remarkable amount about your audience. Your restaurant takes bookings through its own system, or a diary, or the phone. The two just never talk to each other.
That means your box office CRM has no idea which of your ticket buyers ever dine with you — and your restaurant has no idea the party of four on table twelve are members who have seen everything you have staged for three seasons. Two loyal audiences, one building, and no way to see the whole picture.
Restaurant bookings, right in the Spektrix basket
We have integrated Make a Rezzy with Spektrix so that theatres with restaurants can close that gap. It does three things:
- Dinner is offered while the tickets are still in the basket. Our reservation widget sits on your own Spektrix-powered basket page. It reads the customer’s basket, pre-selects the date of their show, and shows table times that naturally fit before or after the performance. No separate booking journey, no working out timings.
- The table booking is linked to their Spektrix customer record. The diner books as normal, and behind the scenes the reservation is matched to the same customer your box office already knows.
- Dining history flows back into your Spektrix CRM. Once the visit is completed, Make a Rezzy writes it back to the customer’s Spektrix profile — their most recent visit and their total visits to date — so dining behaviour sits right alongside ticketing history.
Why this matters for your restaurant
Pre-show diners are the easiest covers you will ever fill. They are already coming to your building, they already trust you, and they have already decided what time their evening starts. The only thing standing between you and their dinner spend is friction — and that is exactly what this integration removes.
And because dining now shows up in your Spektrix booking flow, your marketing team can finally ask the questions that matter: who books shows but has never eaten with us? Who dined once and never came back? Who dines with us whenever they see a show, and who only comes for the food? Those are segments you can actually do something about.
What it costs
The same as everything else at Make a Rezzy: no subscription and no hidden fees — just £1 per cover booked. You only pay when the integration is actually putting diners at your tables.
See it working
We have put together a page for theatres that use Spektrix, including a live demo of the widget sitting in a mock basket page — you can restyle it to match your brand right there on the page. It is the same booking platform that won Tech Product of the Year at the Hospitality Tech Expo 2025 — here simply restyled for a theatre.
If you would rather see it with a human attached, book a ten-minute walkthrough from that page, or email us at support@makearezzy.com. We will happily talk through what the set-up looks like on your side of the curtain.
