Bookings from a card payments company
Dojo is best known for its card machines. Dojo Bookings began life as the WalkUp app, and it's tied to Dojo's payments: its quote form asks for your card turnover, and deposits run on Dojo's payments.
Make a Rezzy has no card machine to sell you. Deposits and tickets are paid online whatever you use at the table, and if you use Square, bookings connect to it.
- Deposits need Dojo payments
- Dojo's help centre says you must be a Dojo Payments customer to take deposits or hold cards.
- Your restaurant, inside Dojo's app
- Turning on bookings lists you in Dojo's diner app alongside every other restaurant in it, and the diners browsing there are Dojo's customers, not yours.
- Guest details shared with Dojo
- Dojo's diner privacy policy says it receives restaurants' guest book and booking information, and purchase and spend information.
Why restaurants look for a Dojo Bookings alternative
-
Email your regulars from the same place
Campaigns and automations go to guests who opted in, straight from your guest list, with no export and no second tool.
-
A quiet month doesn't lose you money
Pay for the covers you seat, and never more than £99 in a month. A quiet January costs less than a busy December.
-
Keep your card machine
Make a Rezzy doesn't force you to use any specific card machine. It's your choice which one to use.
Switching from Dojo Bookings
Check your Dojo agreement for any minimum term or notice period first. Then ask Dojo for your guest data: its privacy policy says a restaurant that leaves can move its guest book to another provider.
Set up Make a Rezzy alongside it: build your floor plan, add the booking widget to your website, and swap your booking links once you're ready. We'll help you bring your guest list across.
