Quandoo Is Closing: What Restaurants Need to Do Now

Share:

If your restaurant takes bookings through Quandoo, you will have had the email by now: Quandoo is closing. Its owners announced in March 2026 that the platform will wind down, and the dates are close. This guide sets out what happens and when, what it means for the bookings already in your diary, and what to do this week so that your guest data and your reservations carry on after Quandoo has gone.

The key dates

  • 30 September 2026: the last day diners can make a new booking on Quandoo, and the last dining date they can choose.
  • 1 October 2026: restaurants can no longer manage new or existing bookings through Quandoo.
  • 31 December 2026: Quandoo's website, app and remaining systems go offline for good.

The dates come from Quandoo's own closure announcement, which is worth checking in case anything changes.

What happens to bookings dated after 30 September

They still stand. A diner who booked on Quandoo before the cut-off for a date in October or later still has a table. Quandoo says it will pass the booking details to the restaurant, and any change or cancellation is now between the guest and you.

In practice, that means three things:

  • Write those bookings into whatever diary you will be using in October. Don't rely on Quandoo admin still showing them after 1 October.
  • Expect calls. Guests who try to change a Quandoo booking will be told to contact you directly, so make sure whoever answers the phone knows about it.
  • Check the details on the night. Confirm party size and any notes with the guest rather than trusting an old record.

Can I still log in to Quandoo admin?

Until 30 September, yes: Quandoo's tools stay available in their current form. From 1 October you can no longer manage bookings there, and by 31 December everything is switched off. If there is anything in your Quandoo admin or partner login you want to keep, treat the end of September as your real deadline, not the end of December.

Export your guest data before it disappears

Your guest list is the most valuable thing you have built up on Quandoo: names, contact details, visit history, notes about allergies and favourite tables. Once Quandoo goes offline, anything you have not exported goes with it.

  1. Export from your Quandoo dashboard while you still have access. Download your guest list and booking history as CSV files.
  2. If you can't find the export, ask Quandoo support for a copy of your guest list and reservation history. Quandoo has said its support team will help partners export data before the shutdown. Ask now; every other Quandoo restaurant is asking too.
  3. Open the files and check them before you need them. Make sure the columns you care about are actually in there.
  4. Store them safely. This is personal data about your guests, and under UK GDPR you are responsible for keeping it secure.

One thing to be aware of: a guest who booked with you through Quandoo has not agreed to receive marketing emails from you. You can use their details to run their booking and look after them when they visit, but ask for consent before you add them to a newsletter.

What you keep and what you lose

  • You keep your reviews on Google, Tripadvisor and Facebook. Those have nothing to do with Quandoo.
  • You lose your Quandoo listing, any reviews left on Quandoo, and the bookings that came from diners browsing the Quandoo app.
  • You keep your guest list only if you export it.

Update every booking link

The easiest bookings to lose are the ones from guests who click a "Book a table" link that still points at Quandoo. Go through each place a guest might find you and swap the link before 30 September:

  • your Google Business Profile booking link
  • your website's booking button or widget
  • your Instagram bio and Facebook page
  • email signatures, menus and QR codes on tables

Choosing what comes next

Quandoo closing is a good moment to ask what you actually want from a booking system, rather than simply moving to the next marketplace. A few questions worth asking any provider:

  • Do bookings happen on your own website, Instagram and Google? Or does the platform send guests to its own app, where they see other restaurants too?
  • Who owns the guest data? Can you export it whenever you like, and does the platform market other restaurants to your guests?
  • How does the pricing work? Per cover, per booking, a monthly subscription, or a commission on marketplace bookings, and is there a cap?
  • Can you be set up before 30 September? Running both systems side by side for a couple of weeks is the safest way to switch: new bookings go to the new system while the Quandoo ones work their way through.
  • Will they help you move? Your guest list and your October bookings need a home on day one.

Moving from Quandoo to Make a Rezzy

Make a Rezzy is a booking system for independent restaurants that takes bookings directly on your own website, Instagram and Google, with your guest list, floor plan and deposits in one place. There is no subscription: you pay £1 per cover booked, capped at £99 a month.

If you are leaving Quandoo, send us your exported guest list and the bookings you have for October onwards, and we will help you get them into your new diary. See what we offer restaurants moving from Quandoo, or email support@makearezzy.com and we will talk you through it.

Common questions

Is Quandoo closing down?

Yes. Quandoo is shutting down its booking platform. The last day for new bookings is 30 September 2026, restaurants can no longer manage bookings from 1 October, and the website and app go offline on 31 December 2026

What happens to Quandoo bookings after 30 September?

Bookings made before the cut-off for later dates are still valid. Quandoo passes the details to the restaurant, and guests contact the restaurant directly to change or cancel.

Can I still use Quandoo admin after 1 October?

No, not to manage bookings. From 1 October restaurants can no longer handle new or existing bookings through Quandoo, and everything goes offline on 31 December 2026.

How do I export my guest data from Quandoo?

Download your guest list and booking history as CSV files from your Quandoo dashboard while you still have access, or ask Quandoo support for a copy. Do it before the end of September.

Can I send marketing emails to guests from my Quandoo export?

Not without their consent. A booking made through Quandoo is not permission to send marketing emails, so ask guests to opt in first.

What is the best alternative to Quandoo?

It depends on what you need. Look for a system that takes bookings on your own website, Instagram and Google, lets you export your guest data at any time, has clear pricing, and can be set up before 30 September. Make a Rezzy is built for independent restaurants that want exactly that: direct bookings, your own guest list, and no subscription, at £1 per cover, capped at £99 a month.

Can I move from Quandoo to Make a Rezzy?

Yes. Export your guest list from Quandoo, then send it to Make a Rezzy along with any bookings you have for October onwards, and we will help you get them into your new diary. Email support@makearezzy.com to get started.
