A service in Make a Rezzy is a band of time on a day of the week when you are taking bookings — lunch, dinner, brunch, a late-night bar service, or anything else you run. You can have as many services as you need, and each one can use a different floor plan.
How services are organised
Two tabs do the work, both under Availability:
- Templates — your recurring weekly schedule. Every band of time you regularly take bookings during is one template here.
- Closed Days — your one-off closures, such as bank holidays, private hires, or staff training days.
- Availability — your actual windows for each day. Your Templates and Closed Days feed into this to create the availability that guests see when they try to book. You can make changes to existing records availability here.
Together, they tell Make a Rezzy when the booking system should offer slots to guests.
Adding a recurring service
- Open Availability → Templates.
- Click Add for the day you want to create a template.
- Fill in the form (see What's on the form below) and save.
- Tap Availability, then the Templates tab.
- Tap Create.
- Fill in the form (see "What's on the form" below) and save.
Repeat for each band you run — one Monday lunch, one Monday dinner, one Tuesday lunch, and so on.
What's on the form
- Day — the day of the week this service runs on.
- Start time — the earliest time a guest can book a table at.
- End time — the latest time a guest can book a table at. (The booking will run on from there for the length of your default sitting time.)
- Block size (minutes) — how the booking slots are spaced. A 15-minute block size means guests are offered 19:00, 19:15, 19:30, and so on. A 30-minute block size means 19:00, 19:30, 20:00. Smaller blocks fill the diary more finely; larger ones spread arrivals out a little. We recommend setting this to 15.
- Floor plan — which floor plan the booking system should use for this service. See Linking tables to services for why this matters.
More than one service per day
A common setup is a separate lunch and dinner band on the same day. Add two templates for that day — for example, a Monday lunch running 12:00 to 14:30, and a Monday dinner running 18:00 to 22:00. Make a Rezzy lays them out as two distinct services. Guests booking outside those bands will not be offered a slot.
Each band has its own floor plan, block size, and time range, so you can run lunch on the indoor tables only and dinner on the indoor plus patio, for instance.
One-off changes for a specific date
The Availability tab is for one-off windows that do not fit your weekly pattern — a special Sunday lunch you only run once a year, a New Year's Eve dinner that closes earlier than usual, or a private hire on a day you would normally be open to the public.
The form looks much like the Templates form, but instead of a day of the week it takes a full start date and time and end date and time. Block size and floor plan work the same way.
Use this tab for additive overrides only — to close a specific day, see Closing dates and one-off changes.
Editing or removing a service
Click any template or one-off window to open it for editing. Changes take effect straight away — guests trying to book a slot in a service you have just removed will no longer be offered it.
Removing a template does not cancel existing bookings that fall inside it. Those stay in the diary; only future availability is affected.
Where to go next
- Setting your opening hours — the simpler view of the same idea, for restaurants with one band per day.
- Linking tables to services — why each service picks its own floor plan.
- Closing dates and one-off changes — for days when you are not taking bookings at all.
