The Inbox

The Inbox tab in the mobile app is a running record of what has happened at your business: new bookings, changes, cancellations, no-shows and new reviews. Every member of your team sees it, each person keeps their own track of what they have read, and the same events can reach your phone as alerts.

What lands in the Inbox

An entry appears whenever one of these happens, whoever did it — a guest on your listing, a team member in the app, or a change made on the web:

  • New bookings — labelled by where they came from: website, phone, email, walk-in, or simply "new booking".
  • Changes — a booking confirmed, a party seated, a booking completed, or any other edit to a booking.
  • Cancellations and no-shows — a booking cancelled, or a party marked as a no-show.
  • New reviews — a guest has left a review, with their rating and the title they gave it.

Each entry names the guest, the party size and the booking's date and time, and says who made the change where that is known — a team member by first name, or "the guest". Several changes to the same booking within a few seconds are folded into one entry.

Reading the Inbox

Entries are newest first and grouped by day. Anything you have not read yet sits on a white card with a bold title and an amber dot, and the header counts what is unread. Entries you have read settle into the page.

  • Pull down to fetch anything that has happened since you last looked.
  • Scroll to the bottom to load older entries.
  • Tap a chip — New bookings, Changes, Cancellations & no-shows or Reviews — to show only that kind. The chips narrow what has loaded so far, so scroll the full Inbox first if you are looking for something older.

Opening an entry

Tapping an entry marks it as read for you. For a booking, the booking then opens so you can see the details, reach the guest, and — if your role allows — move it along, cancel it or edit it, just as you would from Today or the Diary.

For a review, the review itself opens: the guest's stars and comment, the visit it came from, and the reply — which Owners and Admins can write there and then. See Reading and responding to reviews.

Alerts on your phone

The first time you open a business in the app, your phone asks whether Make a Rezzy may send you alerts. Say yes and every Inbox entry also arrives as an alert on that phone.

Tapping an alert opens the app on the business it is about, switching business if you had another one open, and lands in the Inbox with the entry marked as read. For a booking, the booking opens on top of the Inbox, just as if you had tapped its entry; for a review, the review opens. This works whether the app is closed, in the background or already open.

  • You are not alerted about your own actions.
  • If an alert is about a business you no longer manage, the app tells you so and stays where it was.
  • Alerts follow your sign-in. Log out and that phone stops receiving them; log in on another phone and it starts.
  • If you said no, or turned alerts off later, the app's Alerts & emails settings show a notice with a shortcut to your phone's settings so you can allow them again.

Choosing what reaches you

Each person picks their own alerts and emails, for each business they manage. Everything is on to begin with. See Alerts and emails for what you can change and where to change it.
