If you run your tills on Square, this integration keeps your diary and your till in sync at the table. When you seat a guest in Make a Rezzy, a check opens on Square for their table — so your floor staff can start adding to the bill straight away, without keying the table in twice. When the bill is settled on Square, the booking is marked as finished in Make a Rezzy automatically.
Who this is for
This integration is useful if your restaurant:
- Takes payment through Square at the till.
- Takes table bookings through Make a Rezzy.
- Wants the diary and the till to agree on which tables are in use, without staff opening every check by hand.
What the integration does
Once your Square account is connected, two things happen on their own:
- Seating a guest opens a check. When you mark a booking as Seated, Make a Rezzy opens a check on Square for that table, named after the table. Your staff pick it up at the till and add the order to it.
- Settling the check closes the booking. When the check is paid and closed on Square, Make a Rezzy marks the booking as Completed — so you do not have to tidy each finished table off the diary yourself.
The step-by-step of what carries across, and how quickly, is in How the table sync works.
What you need
- A Square account with at least one location set up.
- A Make a Rezzy account for the restaurant, with admin access.
- Tables set up on your floor plan, so a booking can be put on a table when you seat it.
Connecting takes a couple of minutes and is covered in Connecting your account.
What it does not do
Make a Rezzy looks after the diary and Square looks after the bill. The integration is a small bridge between them.
- It does not take payment. The bill, tips, and card handling all stay on Square. Make a Rezzy never sees payment details.
- Create bookings on Make a Rezzy. Opening a check directly on the till does not create or change a booking in your diary — the link starts when you seat a guest in Make a Rezzy.
- It does not sync your menu or prices. Your items and pricing stay in Square.
- It does not change your table layout. Your Make a Rezzy floor plan and your Square setup stay separate.
