Wix uses an Embed HTML element to add third-party blocks like the Make a Rezzy reservation widget. This article walks through the paste-in step, and explains how Wix's iframe wrapping affects the widget's appearance.
Before you start, copy the embed snippet for your widget — see Adding the widget to your site if you have not got that far.
Adding the widget
- Open the page where you want the widget in the Wix editor.
- Click + Add Elements on the left toolbar.
- Pick Embed Code, then Embed HTML. A small placeholder element will appear on the page.
- Click the placeholder and choose Enter Code. Paste the embed snippet into the box that appears.
- Click Update. Drag the placeholder to where you want the widget on the page, and resize it so the widget has enough room to render at full width.
- Click Publish in the top-right.
Sizing the embed
Wix sizes the Embed HTML element by hand — it does not auto-resize to fit the widget. A couple of rules of thumb:
- Button widget — make the placeholder roughly the size of one large button (around 240×64 pixels). The button will scale to fill it.
- Inline widget — give it the full width of your page section and at least 360 pixels of height (around 560 pixels if the customer-facing copy is long). You can always resize after seeing the live render.
Where to go next
- Customising the widget — colours, fonts, and copy.
